High Ropes Course
When you hear the term, high ropes course, you know that your Birmingham stag weekend is sure as hell not going to be messing around. By picking an activity like this you are making sure that your stag do is not going to be boring, but that it is going to be balls to the wall action and probably one of your mates will be crying like a little baby…… or possibly even dead….. ok no one will actually die, but this high ropes course is sure as hell going to separate the men from the boys!
What To Expect:
Well it does not take a rocket scientist to realise that with a name like “high ropes course” you boys will be taking part in some kind of obstacle course that is high of the ground. One thing that you have to expect here is a great time, but you also have to expect that you are going to need to push yourself and your mates as well. Sometimes one of your buddies may be a bit scared, chicken or whatever you want to call it! And it is going to be down to you to motivate them with a slap on the head, a few choice abusive sayings or maybe even some actual encouragement! No matter if you decide to work together to help each other through the course or make a little competition of it, you are going to have an awesome time here.
What Will Happen:
This high ropes course is kind of new and is set in one of the most amazing woodlands in Bewdley. I tell you man these woodlands look like something out of Lord Of The Rings of Game Of Thrones….. except without all the orcs, monsters and dragons about the place. You will certainly need to summon the courage of some kind of medieval warrior though as this is one of the most impressive high ropes course in the whole of the UK.
Once you arrive an instructor, guide or whatever you want to call him. Will show you boys the ropes (no pun intended) and give you some info on what to expect. You will be given safety gear like a helmet and you will be tethered and have a safety line as well. The instructor will always be on hand to offer you guys some advice if you get stuck or are starting to freak out! You will be given some hints and tips on what parts of the course are tough and how to get past them…… most blokes think they know best and ignore this….. I Highly recommend you listen!
The actual ropes course is pretty damn mental. At its highest point you will be 14 meters off the ground. This section of the course is actual a platform for the craziest zip line you will ever go on! Speaking of zip lines there are a few of them on this course and the longest one is an impressive, 160 meters and let me tell you if you give yourself a good spring off the platform, you really will haul ass down the zip line. As this is a high ropes course as you would expect there are a number of beams and crossings that you will have to make your way past. While these start of fairly tame by the end of the course some of the crossings will be as long as 17 meters!
In all you guys will have a great day and while most people like to just take the course at their own pace and just generally enjoy the experience. Some guys love to get the stop watch out and see who can do it the fastest. No matter what though when you get to the end of the course you are automatically just that little bit more cool, awesome and badass than when you started.
What You Need To Know:
Here we have what is the “essential” information about your day at this high ropes course.
Clothing: loose and comfortable clothing is what is recommended when you take on a high ropes course. You do not want to be wearing your nicest clothes when doing this and be sure to wear some comfortable footwear as well. A change of clothes is always a good idea in case the weather is not too good……… or if when you are on the highest point of the course, you “let go” if you know what I mean!
How Long Does It Last?: This is a hard one to answer as this is the type of thing that each person does at their own pace. So while one of you may fly through the course another may be a bit slower and more methodical in their approach. It also depends on how large your stag group is. When you call and let the people know the size of your stag group, you will be given an idea of how long it will take to get you through the course.
What About The Weather?: Well this is not the kind of thing you want to do if it is pouring down with rain or if the course if covered in snow…… then it will not be open. But a little bit of rain or some wind is said to add to the excitement of this course!
How Many People Can Do This?: They can handle quite large stag groups here, but they do ask you have a minimum of 9 people in order to book here, but it is always worth calling if you have less and seeing fi they will fit you in.
