Newcastle Stag Day Ideas
When it comes to a mental, fun loving stag weekend, Newcastle is at the top of most people’s list. From the amazing nightlife here where you can try and charm the pants of some of the Geordie lassies (many of whom are not shy when it comes to showing some skin!) to the amazing things you can do during the day. Newcastle is one hell of a city for a stag do. I would say it’s almost impossible not to have a good time here!

Top Stag Do Activities In Newcastle
Holy crap is there a ton of cool stuff to do here in Newcastle! Before we even get to the activities let me tell you that the food here is awesome. You have the famous Newcastle Quayside that is home to a ton of bars…… that also serve food. Eating is as good a reason as any to have a few sneaky daytime beers! As well as having great food, the Geordie atmosphere and the people here are known all over the world for being friendly and just a little bit crazy!
When it comes to things to do, Newcastle almost spoils you guys. For some racing that is a little more hard core check out these amazing off road buggies that look like go karts who have been taking a whole bunch of steroids! These will see you guys tearing it up on an off road track. If you like racing in video game then you will freaking love a day here I promise you that!
If you guys want a more “normal” type of racing action then check out the amazing in door go karting track here in Newcastle. I swear once you are all suited up you will feel like a real F1 driver….. except without the huge bank account and pop star girlfriend. But hey you can work on getting those things after.
For an activity where you get to inflict a wee bit of pain on your mates and feel like a total bad ass in the process then a day of paintball is just the way to go and make your Newcastle stag do that extra bit awesome. You get the best paintball equipment, a huge ass outdoor area to have a war in and different game scenarios to really get you in the mood. There are few things as awesome as shooting a mate in the back, especially when he does not see it coming!
As this is a manly stag do, you gents may want to do something…. Well manly and that is what I have here with an hour or two of archery & tomahawk throwing. Archery is fun and if Hawkeye from the Avengers can rock a bow and arrow and look cool then so can you….. well maybe. Tomahawk throwing is just freaking amazing. Basically you are throwing a heavy axe into a target and it’s just so addictive that you will all be arguing over who gets an extra shot!
In keeping with the shooting theme if you are looking for a weapon with a bit more kick then how about a round of clay pigeon shooting? There is nothing cooler than standing with a shotgun in one hand and a hot blonde in the other like an 80’s action movie star. This place by the way does not provide the hot blonde, but they will teach you guys how to handle a bad ass shotgun and shoot clay targets into a million little pieces.
One way to experience some of the more “rural” parts of Newcastle is with a fun day quad biking. Here you guys will get to put your what I am sure are amazing (that was sarcastic by the way) driving skills to the test around this huge outdoor estate that has been made into a quad bike obstacle course! While the course may be tricky, getting the hang of these quad bikes is not. This is an activity that even the most dim witted of your mates will be able to do!
But Wait There Is More!
Here I have for you some of the more “unconventional” ways to have a fun and crazy Newcastle stag do! How about some white water rafting! This is a sure fire way to have an adrenaline pumping stag do and get soaking wet in the process! This is a fun stag do event, but also one that makes you guys work together as a team. Not to many people know you can white water raft here in Newcastle which is a damn shame!
Or if getting wet is not your thing how about getting high (no not like that, come on now!) when you scale the tree tops at this amazing, high ropes obstacle course! A cool as ice demeanour and nerves of steel are required to get through this! Balance beams, zip wires and leaps of faith high in the air are just a few of the things you will be dealing with here!
For you Call Of Duty, Halo and video game fans in general then check out this amazing laser tag centre. Here you can have a really intense war with your mates with state of the art laser guns that never run out of ammo and just look cool! Also there is no chance of your nice, baby soft and sensitive skin getting all bruised up like in paintball……. Unless of course you are running and jumping around like a maniac of course…… which I highly encourage.
For something truly mental and something that truly captures the Geordie love for football I have for you, Bubble Football! This will see you guys putting your upper bodies in these huge inflatable balls and then trying to have a game of five a side. All skill goes out the window here and your Messi like runs will be stopped when one of your mates slams into you like a freaking truck! This is a right good laugh even if you do not like football!
Day Time Guide for a Newcastle Stag Party
I have been traveling the country for years so I know the good, the bad and the just freaking horrible when it comes to things to do in many major cities. Here is my rundown on the Toon! That you can use to make sure your stag do here is the pride of the Toon and not like a rejected episode of Geordie Shore.
Geordie Breakfast
For a good English fry up for when you are trying to cure the night before and rid the memories of grinding up on that ugly chick in the club I recommend The Butterfly Cabinet. It may be a wee bit weird and have a style that makes no sense, but their English fry up is second to none and will have you back up and running in no time.
Where To Have Lunch
For a real Geordie lunch head into Grainger Market and go to Sloppy Joes Deli. They have the best sandwiches in Newcastle here. No pissing around, no pretentious waiters or staff juts damn good Geordie food. Either grab your grub to go or sit and eat. Actually sitting and eating lets you do a bit of people watching and see some of the more “interesting” characters than Newcastle has.
Best Taxi Firm
Jesus Christ does this city have a ton of different taxi firms! I swear to God that if you get run over in Newcastle I would say there is a 95 percent chance it will be by a taxi, they are freaking everywhere. Anyway the largest taxi firm in the city is La Taxis. But truth be told if you stand on the side of the road with your hand out a taxi will stop……. Or a hooker will stop, I kid , I kid everyone knows that’s not how you get a hooker.
When Not To Come Here
Hey I love Newcastle, I really do, but one time of year you want to avoid this city is when the Sunderland Air Show happens which is one weekend every July. It’s like the whole damn Tyne & Wear area comes to a standstill, you struggle to get a taxi, and there are tourists everywhere, forget getting on the train or the metro. It’s just an overcrowded nightmare that you are best to avoid the North East when it is on! The Air Show is cool and all, but when you are on a stag weekend in Newcastle, you do not want to have to deal with the thousands of people who flock to the North East.
The Biggest Sporting Events
The biggest sporting event in the North East is the Tyne & Wear Derby. Between, Newcastle & Sunderland. But the North East is also home to a pretty big “combat” sports scene with there being many different boxing, cage fighting and even pro wrestling events happening here.
Festivals In Newcastle
For you piss heads, you will want to have your Newcastle stag weekend in March when the Whisky Festival happens. Newcastle seems to have some kind of “festival” going on every week. Festivals about weddings, skate boarding, music and pretty much any other random thing you can think of. It seems like any person can get a permit to throw a festival these days. Well where the hell is the free beer, big boob festival? When is someone going to organise that?
Pharmacy’s In Newcastle
Look I know better than anyone that during a stag do in Newcastle, shit can hit the fan. So here are a few of the pharmacy’s in Newcastle that you can go to. There are no 24 hour pharmacy’s in Newcastle, but Boots are open to midnight.
