Brighton Stag Day Ideas

Brighton is a place where, in the summer, the ladies seem to flounce around in hardly any clothes! As amazing as that is, Brighton is also one of the best seaside towns when it comes to having stuff to do on a stag do. You can make great use of the coastline, the outdoors and even some things in the town as well. All in all, this is a great place for a stag weekend!

  • Here are the most popular stag day activities in Brighton

Before I get to the activities, let me tell you that the locals here are pretty cool, and while you would think they would be sick and tired of tourists and stag and hen groups, they take it all in their stride and even seem to enjoy all these people coming to their town.

First up is ‘Its A Knock Out’! You remember it from the TV show? Well if not, I’ll remind you: it’s a crazy game show where you have to take part in all kinds of bonkers games. Many of which involve some kind of huge inflatable object, wearing some funny costume. You’ll either compete against each other or against other stag groups. This is a really fun day out and will sure as hell put a smile on everyone’s face.

I always think that one of the best stag day activities, no matter where your stag group is going, is quad biking. This is a quad bike safari, and while there are no tigers or lions, you’ll get to go on a cool trek that will see you get well and truly caked in mud! The quad bikes are not ultra-powerful, but they’ll still kick the crap out of any terrain that gets in their way. For any of you guys who are new to quad biking, you’ll be given a quick lesson to get you up to speed.

Brighton is home to a great place to play some paintball. The thing that sets these guys apart from other places I have played paintball is that you really do feel like you’re in some multi-million pound action film. There are bits of planes, old buildings, indoor areas, and debris all over the place that makes it seem like the shit really did hit the fan, and you need to fight to stay alive! With twelve different game scenarios to play out, no matter if you’re the good guys or the bad guys, you’ll have a great time shooting your mates.

Now, here is something pretty cool: kayaking in the sea! I’ve been kayaking in a few different places in Britain, but this is the first time I’ve done it in the sea, and it’s quite an experience. It’s a hell of a lot more unpredictable, that’s for sure! You’ll have a guide with you as you go on your journey, but this is still quite a challenge… a good challenge. I usually find kayaking quite relaxing, but not here – this is like the bad-boy version of kayaking!

Now let’s move from water to mud (I’m sure there’s a dirty joke in there somewhere), with an action-packed session on some off-road buggies. These things are cool and you guys will have a great time here. They have some kind of race going on, but this is the kind of activity where you really don’t care who wins, it’s just all about tearing up this off-road track, doing a load of nifty spins that send mud flying everywhere and having a lot of fun! Off-road buggies are a real highlight here in Brighton, so make sure you check them out!

Live out your dreams of being in the Fast & Furious films with a day filled with speed, here at this amazing outdoor go-kart track! You guys are in for one hell of a fun time here. The karts are fast, the track will test your skills and the people who run this place are amazing and will make sure you have everything you need for a great time. I must admit I’m not the best driver, but even I had my foot down for most of this track!

Six things not enough? Well, check these out!

Here are some more cool things that you can get up to here in Brighton.

This place offers you the chance to partake in a wee bit of archery. But the real reason I’m recommending it is because of the axe throwing! Yes, that’s right, you guys will be throwing an axe at a target. Axe throwing is way harder than I thought it would be, but man it’s bloody brilliant when you time your throw just right, and the axe slams into the target! You can mix your day here with a little bit of archery and a bit of axe throwing to spice things up. But please note: you can’t shoot axes with a bow. I know this for definite, as I asked and was told no, and then I was asked to leave.

Laser Zone is a really cool place, and for some reason a place that some people think is just for kids. Well, a day here is like being in the film Starship Troopers… but without the spaceships, giant killer bugs and hot chicks. But apart from that, Laser Zone is just like Starship Troopers! You get to use state-of-the-art laser guns that look like they fell off the back of a military truck. These things are really accurate and even if you are a horrible shot it doesn’t matter as you have unlimited ammo! This is different from paintball and something a little different is always good for a party, so check it out.

Now, here is something I have never done anywhere else and that is wake boarding. You will be on a wake board with a cable that is attached to a speed boat that will pull you around the lagoon! This is so much fun, and while you will spend half your time falling into the water, that’s just part of what makes this such an amusing day. This is something that really makes a stag do in Brighton special! Actually, once you get the hang of it, wake boarding is actually not that hard, and I’m sure you’ll be doing jumps and twists in no time.

If you want to feel like Vin Diesel or The Rock, then one way to do that is with some indoor rock climbing. I’ll be honest – I hated the idea of this at first, but it’s all safe and your instructor will make sure you know what you’re doing. There are different walls here, so if you’re not too keen, you can stick to the lower walls. Or if you have the testosterone flowing then you can try and take on one of the big bastard walls and see how you do.

    Places to see in Brighton

Brighton is a busy place, so to save you guys some time (which can be used for drinking) I have written a little guide of places to go to.

The Big Breakfast (what happened to that show?)

Sausage, eggs, bacon, mushrooms and more are on offer at the award winning Bill's. This is a cool place that has a full English as well as more lighter things like muffins, toast and other stuff that is not manly enough for a guy like me! But might be ok for you.

    Where to have lunch

The easiest thing to do is to have fish and chips beside the sea, but for a nice sit down meal then head to Sam’s Of Brighton. Here you can have a damned fine burger or something else from their well stocked menu.

    Taxi firms in Brighton

Brighton Taxis and  Streamline Taxis are just a couple of the taxi firms in Brighton that will get you where you need to go… be it to your next activity, a bar, or as a getaway from the house of the lady you spent the night with who does not look too good in the morning light.

Is there a time to avoid Brighton?

As a seaside town, during the school holidays Brighton is full to the brim with kids. If you find kids annoying as hell, or your stag mates have kids themselves and they’re desperate for a grown-ups-only break, then keep away when they’re off school! Which, by the way, does seem to be all the time these days! I swear we never had that many holidays when I was at school.

    Sport here in Brighton

Brighton has quite the sport scene going on. They are really into motor sports here – both cars and bikes. They also have Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club who have come really close to getting into the Premier League in recent years. And they also have the popular Sussex County Cricket Club.

    Festivals in Brighton

Anyone who has partied on the beach in Brighton knows that this is a place that loves its festivals! Two of the biggest ones are the world famous Brighton Festival and the Brighton Fringe. There is at least one festival on in Brighton each month! So always check to see what is going down when you are here.

What if I need a pharmacy?

Well you should have not have done something stupid and got hurt in the first place, but I will let you off and tell you that there’s a Boots here which is open until 8 pm.
